| i think "Let it Bleed" is the best SINGLE disc Stone's album.
top to bottom.
i mean "monkey man" and "live with me" alone make it a classic.

- interesting note, this discussion has made me go back and listen to kill city, and i remember us discussing on another thread the difference between kill city the song on the album, and the one on a million in prizes which is remarkably cleaner and louder and rocks like a motherfucker, which lead some of us to believe it couldve been the legendary lost kill city master tapes or better quality recordings of it or something also the million in prizes one is 10secs longer than the album version
edit; just listened to the million in prizes version, and theres no comparison, this has gotta be the lost tape, i wonder who put this out and if they know, we have to get easyaction on the case Kill City is screaming out for a 2CD or at least the original tapes, this thing rocks like a motherfucker indeed! I never bothered buying A Million in Prizes because I already owned everything on it. Your post made me go listen to the short clip at the ITunes store and from that alone you can hear a HUGE difference in the two versions. I don't know if it's a lost tape, a new digital remaster or what, but I'd love to hear the whole album get this kind of treatment. Where are the Kill City master tapes anyway? BTW - another reason that Kill City and Exile have a similar feel might be that on Kill City James Williamson started experimenting with open tunings ala Keith Richards.

In my opinion, the best Single Disc Stones album has to be "Let it Bleed". While, I will agree, "Sticky Fingers" is it's closest competiter--a look at the respective tracklists makes the fact that "Let it Bleed" is superior to "Sticky Fingers" seem like a no-brainer. But, to each his own. Let It Bleed"Gimme Shelter" – 4:32 "Love in Vain" (Robert Johnson) – 4:22 "Country Honk" – 3:10 "Live with Me" – 3:36 "Let It Bleed" – 5:34 "Midnight Rambler" – 6:57 "You Got the Silver" – 2:54 "Monkey Man" – 4:15 "You Can't Always Get What You Want" – 7:30 Sticky Fingers"Brown Sugar" – 3:50 "Sway" – 3:52 "Wild Horses" – 5:44 "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" – 7:15 "You Gotta Move" (Fred McDowell/Rev. Gary Davis) – 2:34 "Bitch" – 3:37 "I Got the Blues" – 3:54 "Sister Morphine" (Jagger/Richards/Marianne Faithfull) – 5:34 "Dead Flowers" – 4:05 "Moonlight Mile" – 5:56
