It's an interesting period in Iggy's career. Fun to read about that time, hear interviews and see pictures of the places stayed in Berlin.
The atmosphere of all of it comes clearly through in the music on The Idiot album.
I keep this idea it was not really Iggy's thing there in Berlin...even if he says he had one of the best times in his live there.
Simply because Iggy in his career, didn't stick much to that European moody culture and music influence from the Berlin time.
All was much more Bowie's thing. Iggy also said, that after his relationship with Esther there wasn't much keeping him in Berlin.
I tend to believe Iggy was really
extremely influenced by David his ideas, tastes music etc. in that time...
much more maybe than he even would like to admit. And it's doubtable if the question could be answered; what finally really Iggy his thing/culture is. The answer maybe would have a lot more in common with South American, tribal and voodoo culture (+music) influences probably...but there is also the Detroit blues culture... and what about American biker culture and it's influence
... etc. etc.
hmmm...think now I'm getting of topic
again
