| Jim,
Was just looking at the updated list. I am not sure if I already told you this but that Madison WI date in 73 was cancelled. We were all snowed in at the time. No planes for me to get home and the roads were so bad the guys could not drive to Madison. It took 2 more days to get home and I was stuck in Ann Arbor with nothing to do, LMAO.
Also, that Monroe College date in Dec 70 went on, but the Stooges never did play.
Email me if you need more info, Just in a hurry so I thought I'd respond here.
Hope all is well, Natalie

| Jim,
Let's make it merrier. When you are ready to do an update, if you send a draft, I'll coordinate it with you.
Am making my list of gigs to insure I have all the gigs I need to write about and I know there are some other changes we talked about a while ago. Do you still have the info I sent ?
If you don't, let me know and I'll add it along with my notes on gigs. Thanks.

Did the Stooges ever play Minneapolis? The list shows a '71 show with the 2 guitar line up, but my bass player swears he saw them with the original lineup in '70 doing some sort of Detroit package show.

| Studio Guy,
I never saw them in Minniapolis and I never heard about a Detroit package show. The original line up ended August 8th at Gooselake. I saw the band at Unganos and Asbury Park the following week. Zeke had started to play bass on stage with them and Dave was gone.
If your friend can give a more specific time frame, maybe we can do some research. However, my best guess would be no, they did not play there in 1970.
Sorry I can't shed any more light.

Natalie It would have been in the spring (Mar or Apr), I'm guessing he was wrong and it was the '71 show. He said it was at the Depot (1st Ave Now) Rod

| March or April of 71 would have been Iggy, Ron, Scott, Jimmy R and James, not the original band.
Something's not right in River City.

Something's not right in River City. I'll have to talk to him and get more details (other bands on the bill etc) he did mention there was a wall of Marshall amps surrounding the band and they were hell bent on knocking some over much to the dismay of the roadies.

Get more info if you can and I'll try and dig up something.

Get more info if you can and I'll try and dig up something. Here's what my friend emailed about the show. "-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Funny you should mention this because it will be 40 years ago this Saturday. It was Friday, March 20, 1970 at the Met Center in Bloomington. It was called "The Met Center Rock Festival" and I think it cost all of $5.00. The lineup was: The Litter Brownsville Station SRC (Sweetwater & Rotary Connection were scheduled to play, but didn't) The Amboy Dukes featuring Ted Nugent The Stooges Grand Funk Railroad Canned Heat "-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I thought it was at the Depot but I was wrong Update I found this link, look under 1970 here

| nice point MC...thanks for post!!!! i love this After the concert Iggy was arrested for "obscene acts in public places" because it had inadvertently showed his private parts after the sudden opening of his pants's zipper (!!). and 'Somebody's sucking my dick, somebody's sucking my dick!'. Finally, bored of the attention, he screamed, 'Give me my cock back, you bitch!' and continued the performance. I have a question ... here are pictures of bimbos on one photo iggy has black shorts on the other with white spots and the last picture wearing white briefs It's the same show ? SAN FRANCISCO - 1974: Iggy Pop of the Stooges performs live at Bimbo's Club in 1974 in San Francisco, California Date created:01 Jan 1974 ...This is written for all 3 images | |

| Also, I think the 01/1974 show at the Victory Burlesque can be pinpointed as 1/25. The owner of this blog lists it as 1/25, and he does seem to be a meticulous note-taker! http://dorseylandmusicvenues.blogsome.com I've sent him an email to verify. | |

| Point taken.
Must have deleted the March 3, 1968 gig with Blood, Sweat & Tears some time ago, obviously. My bad. Stooges played Feb. 18 with the Byrds, have a Fifth Estate newspaper ad for the gig. Thanks for the correction.

I've sent him an email to verify. Here was his response: Hi Michael, I wish I could help you with this, but I can't say definitively one way or another whether there was a second show that day. My gut feeling is that there wasn't, because I vaguely remember the unusual start time of 11pm made it a very special event, designed specially for night creatures. On the other hand, maybe I felt that was because we had the choice of an 11pm show. Unfortunately the guy I went to the show with died some years back, so we can't see if his memory was any better than mine.
