Getting back to the STOOGES, if I make that ATP gig in May, I'll be the one in the crowd with the big sign that says RON.

It's impossible to me to even imagine a Ron-less Stooges, but I guess I better get used to it, eh?

yeh i was talkin to a friend who lives in london, and he wants to go too, but i talking, and said the exact same thing ''its hard to imagine..." then i cut off, and just thought how weird it would be

i've only seen them twice, and i know people here have seen them 10 or more times, or even knew them, but i dont know what its going to be like doing the usual "theres scott, theres mike, theres iggy, theres Ron"

i hope it doesnt all hit me and breakdown at the gig

still can't wait though lol

Well I've seen all versions of the Stooges from 1970 onward, and Destroy All Monsters, and Dark Carnival, and every time he walked on stage it was like being hit by lightning for me. I will miss that.

exactly, the first time i saw them, i was in awe of iggy, and of course the rest of the band, but iggy was the main guy for me u'no

but the second i actually barely watched iggy, well not barely, he's hard not to look at, but i spent most of my time watching the band, and more importnantly listentin to the band, it was astounding

i'll never forget watching Ron play the first time, the way his hands moved, it was poetry - as iggy said once, it looked blurred he was moving so quickly i couldnt believe, it made me listen to him in a whole different way

anyway, sorry to dampen the mood, and derail the thread again

hope this is a good gig, and im determined to see at least one of these gigs, and more on the tour when it gets started

and not to detract from Ron, but it will be amazing to see James play, Ron was as good if not better with the reformed stooges and i cant wait to see if James can bring that same dangerous- mental-patient-killing-spree type guitar playing lol

i was thinking about that myself, what did they play at the funhouse hammersmith gig? i thought it might be like they do raw power then walk off stage like an early encore then come back and play some other stuff

If I go to this, no matter how much I enjoy it otherwise I'll be kicking myself that the first stooges gig I ever saw had to be post-Ron!

well that's my own fault, can't do anything about that, at least I wouldn't be remembering how he looked onstage or anything

only go if you want to go Nadja, don't feel like you have to just to support the band

i would say go to see the stooges, its an amazing site, and if this band is anything like the 2003-2008 band it'll be amazing, so go for that, or even to say ''i've seen the stooges live''

but dont go if you feel you have to, if you like raw power enough to go then obviously you'll want to hear those songs played by the man who wrote them and is the only person who can only them properly

I hope that I can manage to go to London and see both shows. This is so great! I started listening to Iggy just because of "Raw Power"

i was thinking, when does the ATP thing usually go on sale, it might give us a clue - and for how much? i think suicide in new york was like $80 but there were some other days, it was like a day pass

They did Funhouse, then some stuff from the 1st album plus some recent stuff. I imagine they'll do much the same.

I mean we gotta get Dog and No Fun! and I hope they close out with a loooong Open Up and Bleed!

Some one asked, on James facebook, if they would play it and James answered that they were rehearsing it but it's undecided if it will be played live.

Let's hope the support act is better than the 'Cool Kids of Death' who were at the Funhouse ATP show. They weren't very good.
