Seriously. Has anyone else noticed, Most of his Bass Player's Have Died ? lol.

1.Zeke Zettner(1970)
2.Dave Alexander(68-70)
3.Jackie Clark(1979)
4.Craig Pike(90-91)
5.Mooseman(2000)

I think that's all of them... i may be forgetting one, But i dont think so. The Dates next to the Players are the year's they played with iggy

What about Ron Asheton (1971-74)?

not all his bass players died, just some, i mean 5 bass players is quite a alot if you ask me

Ron Asheton - 1972 - 1974,

Glen Matlock - 1979,
Billy Rath - 1980,
Mike Page - 1980 - 1983,
Phil Butcher - 1986 - 1987,
Barry Adamson - 1987,
Alvin Gibbs - 1988 - 1989,
Hal Cragin - 1992 - 1999,
Pete Marshall - 2001 - 2003
Mike Watt - 2003 onwards.

But yeah, it's sad that some of his other bass players have died.

That's a lot of bass players. Is Iggy hard to work with, fussy, or just not steady as band perse?

The way I saw it, he was with the Iguana's, The Stooges, Bowie's group and then back with the Stooges..... So, what do I know? Hmmmm

That they died is sad, but what did they die of?

1.Zeke Zettner(1970) - death was drug related.
2.Dave Alexander(68-70) - death was alcohol related.
3.Jackie Clark(1979) - not certain but I think it was cancer.
4.Craig Pike(90-91) - motor accident in London.
5.Mooseman(2000) - drive by shooting in LA.

Actually it is odd that out of all the musicians that Iggy has worked with, and that's a long list, so FEW have died (considering the drink / drugs lifestyle of so many). And sadly, and rather strangely, those who are no more mainly seem to be bass players...

Hmmmm, Yaaa.... You know, now that you mention it, bass is very earthy and therefore sensitive to life's vibrations...... Hence perhaps a need to escape the insensitivities of life with a band etc

The ride-by shooting seems decidedly MKUltra'ish..... He might not have wanted to obey the Mafia/Illuminati format or something - or he had some kind of an understanding of what was actually potting and spoke when he should not have

I have to mention here also that the drummer on the Avenue DVD looked as if he was about to go to slaughter..... not relaxed at all. Perhaps he had been dragged over the coals for not playing as was required by the others?????

FYI, Dave Alexander died of pneumonia. But I do believe that his body was brought to that condition by way too much substance abuse.

For about nine years, i lived next to Hal Cragin..i think he was iggys bassist from 91 to 99..i think it was that span...but anyways... right as a started to get real into iggy and the stooges, i moved. Im still only about 2 miles from his house though. one day im gonna go over, try to talk to him,haha

he was iggy bassist from - 92 to early 2000

Craig Pike was my second cousin. Never met him though =(. The only interesting person in my family had to go and die..
