Stooges 40th anniversary performance

From Henry Rollins article :

'Rollins then revealed that plans are in the works for a Stooges' 40th anniversary performance in Michigan, where he would host and potentially sing with Pop on a few songs. "We're just working on it right now, but whatever they ask, I'll do it," he said.'

I guess the anniversary would be for James joining the Stooges.

Interesting - clearly some sort of celebration so perhaps space can also be found to include Jimmy Recca and Scott Thurston in some way.

Not quite sure what 40th anniversary it would actually be. James joined in late 1970 so that 40th has now passed. But what the hell. Any kind of celebration is good!

Have you ever seen the Youtubes of Rollins' routines of being out-Iggied by Iggy? Hilarious! It would be a bridge of sorts to new audiences to have a showdown or two of this live with the actual Iggy and the Stooges.

The 40th anniversary of what - their first breakup in 1971? 2008 would have been 40 years since their stage debut and 2009 their first record, kinda missed out on those...

Can't see how this can be an anniversary of anything to do with The Stooges, sure they were playing gigs in 1971 but this isn't a landmark of anything unless it's some Jimmy Recca celebration and somehow I highly doubt that.
