Yep I can vouch for that. I'm sorting out all my cuttings into order for all the artists I like. Got a lot of Bowie, Iggy, Fall and Lou Reed/VU cuttings in particular and I've having to let some go as there's limits to space and time to sort them out.
While I doubt there are scans of much original Stooges stuff online, it is worth googling for articles on any given band particularly if you know the publication name and year, it can yield good results.
Best of luck to anyone trying it...in an ideal world I'd like to share scans of my completed pages for each artist (ie there are pages which are simply a full article, or part thereof, but other 'scrapbook' pages on any given artist where I have several smaller cuttings on one page)...but it's taking enough time to gather everything and place it in order (alpha, and on my favourite artists, choronological too).
Beware of buying cuttings collections on Ebay - can be a cheap way of getting a lot of info / articles on one artist at a fell swoop, but some people (can't blame them as there's only so much space and time we all have) only keep the picture pages from articles. Noticed two Iggy interviews from 1999 yesterday in my collection both "ending" with the word 'and'...
I've gone on enough, like I say good luck to anyone attempting this.
