He played plenty of shows with them. Having said that, there were about 20 people

Soldier-thanks for the downloads. On the "Victims of Circumstance" link, it looks like the first song was missing from the file (title track)?

Hi all,
the New Order are absolutely amazing: I found the two vinyl records and I treasure them like holy stuff. By the way, maybe someo f you might be interested in 3 articles I wrote on my magazine about them. Unfortunately they're in Italian. Sorry.

Does anyone else like The New Order? There are a few of their songs up on this myspace, and I have the rest of the album on mp3. It's impossible to find an actual copy of it(I've been looking for ages), but it's awesome.
With shipping it came out to $39.22. More than i really wanted to pay, but it seems that this CD is almost impossible to find. Hey, it could have been worse. On the Amazon US site there are two used copies going for $159 and $200.
The only example of "Declaration of War" that I could find was mp3 downloads at Amazon US:
There is some question over whether it is '75 or '76, and one of the song titles eludes me. I passed it to MGT a while ago, but no response yet over the specifics.
EDIT: I just let MGT's Webmaster, Retro Kimmer, know this show is posted and to try to tap MGT and get the specifics. She gave me all of his links to post about his New Order experience.

I was at the gig at the Venice pavilion - they actually played there a few times and I attended all of them. It's very unlikely this took place in 1976. 74 or 75 would be more likely. I think they had pretty much all moved back to Michigan by 76. I'm not at all positive but am pretty sure.
I need to download that show and see how much I can remember.

That's been the big question. Here is what "FlyingG" said on Dime:
I think this could possibly be 1976 as the song titles here suggest its the second line-up with Dave Gilbert on vocals (as on the "Victim Of Circumstance" LP/CD). Jeff Spry was on vocals in 1975.
Stuff like "Lucky Strike" and "Hollywood Holiday" aren't here and would be surprising if it were Spry on vocals in 1975, singing songs known to be sung by Gilbert.
This flyer of mine, I was told is for 1976 and I went along with that because the 7th & 14th February were both Saturdays(more likely than Fridays) and for outside gigs between 12pm and 5pm thats more likely with an evening show at Boomers on the 7th too. Also as the flyer says "Featuring members of Amboy Dukes, MC5, Stooges + Ray Gunn". Ray Gunn joined on guitar in 1976 and the ex "Amboy Duke" being Dave Gilbert, "MC5"- Dennis Thompson and obviously Ron and Jimmy Recca from the Stooges.
The flyer mentions two gigs at The Venice Pavillion. Not saying that this torrent is definitely one of those, but I am pretty sure this is 1976.
The flyer also says "Debut" at the bottom. This cannot be right due to the line up being the 1976 one, but it could refer to the debut of the new group with Dave Gilbert or the debut at those venues?
EDIT - Just to confirm after listening to it, that is Dave Gilbert on vocals making this gig 1976.
Listen to the show and lemme know what you think, Larry. Here is the flyer FlyingG uploaded:

Well, here's what I know for sure, after doing a little fact checking and not relying on my memory. In May or June of 1975 I met The New Order and they were a four piece band with Asheton, Thompson, Recca and Gilbert. Spry was gone by that time. I know it was during that time frame because I interviewed them and the interview was published in summer 1975 in a fanzine that some friends and I had. That means that the Venice show was not 1974 and not February of 1975 because I hadn't met them yet. So, I guess it is 1976.
By December of 1975 they had added Ray Gunn to the band - and his addition ruined the band in my opinion.
Looking back through the archives it seems that they were fired from Boomer's (on the flyer, above) after only three nights. I don't remember why but I can see that they didn't finish the stand.
By the November/December 1976 issue of our little fanzine we had reported that they had broken up.
I know I saw them probably at least a dozen times but I remember the Venice Pavilion shows being good fun.
Hopefully when Easy Action starts to work on the New Order box they will contact me. I have interviews, photos, tapes and some hazy memories.

By late spring of 1976 I know Ron was back in Michigan because I had letters from him at that time and the address was his Ann Arbor address.

My favourite New Order song. It's offensive, aggressive, with some great guitar by Ron... still Jimmy Recca kind of shines out on this. That guy has some really fast and steady fingers.

Have shared this youtube song/movie a lot recently, but not here yet. It's not cause of my "pride" for putting together some pictures, but love for Ron and this amazing band, that's a fact. Hope you'll enjoy it. One of their greatest songs

Asked Easy Action about the progress of the New Order box-set. Unfortunately they are still waiting for the tapes from the owner. Really hope this will happen.
