The wierdness and the thoughts about it.

does anyone have watt's diary of the session? they were posted on his hoot page, then guickly taken down by someone (Albini's?) request.

Albini's mix is fine - he's a good recorder and his mix is fine.

the songs on the other hand are (on the whole) shit, they needed help writing and producing new material.

Alot of people I know say its akin to an IGGY solo record.In alot of ways it is.You have to remember that people, things and relationships change,experience changes your music.Also youth is a factor.I bet all of your favorite bands best material in your opinion is their early stuff.ANY bands first or second album is always the best in my opinion.This may have to do with the creativity and emotions of youth,and aggression certainly.
The album isnt terrible,its just doesnt sound like what we would consider a Stooges album to sound like,an old stooges album anyway.We have a tendency to compare a bands BEST material to their newest material,its natural to do that.W'ed all like another Funhouse from that lineup,and Im of the school of "If the formula works stick with it!"But its also 40 yrs later,and as I said time changes things,and it usually means "different" which doesnt necessarily mean bad.

Mexican Guy is my favorite from The Weirdness as well.
Has anyone heard of them ever doing it live?
I've never seen any on youtube or anything.
