Imho, if you add "1969," "I Wanna Be Your Dog" and "No Fun" to the Fun House set, you have what may be the greatest set list ever. An aural wet dream! Exactly! Me being an older fart..I'm a fan of the late 60's/early 70's stuff anyway. And there was a groove there, thanks to RON, that would never be duplicated again.

Hmmm. Maybe a new thread in order?

Hmmm. Maybe a new thread in order? Perhaps! I was quite young back in the late 60's (11 in 1969) but I became quite musically aware as early as 1965. My mother and I would watch all the cool shows like "Where The Action Is" and such. 1969 may be my favorite year for music in general. But the early 70's weren't exactly shitty either.

I'd love to read your band suggestions in the 70's thread I started in the "Other Bands" section on this forum.

| I can't split them. Taking the dual guitar period & I guess post-Raw Power lineups out of the equation (sorry to simplify it across the album lineups, but that's how I've always looked at the Stooges – based on the studio albums) I see two different bands, each as good as each other in different ways. I love the first two albums & Ron's sound, but then James comes along & adds a sense of real danger to the band with that brutal style of his. I still haven't heard a guitarist sound so downright nasty since. | |

| It's all good, but the Dave Alexander years are my favorite. No doubt. | |

| I voted for 67-71 era, it's their best times for me (but Raw Power era is awsome too). | |
