| I read that Jim Morrison jumped into the crowd in 1967
I am quite upset that :-(

| I found it on the Internet so I put the post
But he did not want to jump into the crowd (it was an accident), and Iggy is the first who started to jump into the crowd deliberately

| I saw Iggy take a header on the Saturday Night show at The Electric Circus in 71. New York crowds don't catch people. Iggy leapt off the stage and the crowd parted like the Red Sea--splat!! Great dive!!! | |

| For all I know, Wynonie Harris and other rnb and jump blues singers, jumped in the crowd to come clother to the audience. The scenes were just lower in those clubs and juke joints, so I don't know if it can be called "diving". Stage hoping, maybe ? | |

Yeah she did well, especially as she had no audience at all. The guy jumping feet first on to the small group of old ladies is pretty strange. The one time I was under one of Iggy's dives was good, not so much a dive as a collapse, he just sort of melted off the stage onto us. Obviously it was at an indoor theatre and there was no gap to cross. No great leap, just a kind of giving way like slipping into water. It was very artistic.
