Night Of Destruction Empty
PostSubject: Night Of Destruction   Night Of Destruction Icon_minitimeSat Nov 19, 2011 2:46 am

I discovered this 6-CD compliation just now, and when thinking about it, it must be a pretty awesome piece to own.
I may be a bit late with it, as it was first released in 1991 (as limited edition). But I never knew Iggy sang, for example "Waiting for the Man" and that "Dynamite Boogie" is something totally new for me.
And about the "uknown jam" I never been bothered to dig more into it as it not much info about it when it's mentioned.

So what do you guys think about it? Is it something you got to have? Is there some other versions and/or CD's released with those rare songs? And please tell if missed something else! Embarassed Razz

Despite owning both the jewel case and cardboard sleeve versions of the box set, and being a fanatical Stooges fan, I can't remember a whole lot about it but I'll do my best. I was thrilled with it when I bought it because it contains the best version of "She Creatures Of The Hollywood Hills" (live L.A. Sept. 16 1973) without the bit of tape damage present on the CD Live At The Whisky A Go Go and with some more Iggy audience banter. "Waiting For The Man" I remember as being very short, maybe half a minute. "Dynamite Boogie" I recall as being very unremarkable, certainly nothing you need to own. Both those tracks I think are Iggy with unknown guitarist. There is also a short Ron Asheton interview on one of the CDs. Everything else I think has been released in a bit better quality elsewhere. Out of all the Stooges box sets out there it is definitely the least worthwhile but I still value my copies.
