| Maybe I'm weird. I know most people's favorite Stooges is Funhouse. Mine is Raw Power then 1st Album then Funhouse. My Ultimate album would be Raw Power substituting Your Pretty Face, Shake Appeal and Death Trip with Head On, Open Up and Bleed and Johanna..... and if I was allowed two bonuses Dog & 1970. | |

| I could never choose between Funhouse and Raw Power. Depends on my mood which one I like best. Pretty Face is perhaps my fav track on it. Or close.
I also love Beat Em Up, both Beat Em Up and The Idiot fell just outside my top-5. Skull Ring grew on me after a year or something. I used to hate Little Know It All but I learned to love it. In fact (I'm in college), I listened to it right before an oral exam and it got me all fired up for it, and I passed, haha.
Man I can't wait for a new Stooges album, it will be fucking glorious. I enjoyed the Weirness a lot, I never understood why a lot of critics said it killed The Stooges legacy. Except for Free and Freaky which I cannot like, for some reason it reminds me of Bon Jovi or something.
I ramble, sorry. | |

i'm kinda the same way - as in i love both funhouse and raw power equally, actually i cant choose between the three albums, its amazing, theyre all equally briliant and meaningful to me u'no havent learned to like beat em up, i do like instinct abd blah a lot more, stil wrangling with zombie birdhouse - and i love weirdness too! i didnt get the backlash, u never know it may turn out to be some masterpiece like the other 3 but only appreciated thirty years from now, lol

| i think its personal taste, i suppose its better than like all stones fans picking like exile or something, the fact that we still have facourites even out of three albums is a testament to how equally brilliant and diverse they are - im still amazed that each album so far is completely different, i hope this next one doesnt sound nethin like the weirdness, thats not a mark against weirdness, i just dontw ant them repeating a sound, they havent done it yet, and hopefully the mixing will be better or watever happened last time, cos iggys always talking about production, i remem, ber reading him dissing the white srtripes production, which is fair to say cos it kinda sucks, tho i think jack whites a gd producer | |

| I like The White Stripe's production - on Elephant anyway.
As far as Stooges records go I'd have:
1. Fun House 2. The Stooges 3. Original Punks 4. Metallic 2KO 5. Raw Power

| I haven't read through this whole thread, but since reading Trynka's excellent Open Up and Bleed, I've been revisiting a lot of my old Iggy albums.
Really, in retrospect, I think I underappreciated them back in the day. I mean, those albums always had a song or a few that I really dug, but I guess they never hit me as greatly as Stooges stuff.
Now, though, I've been listening through some of his earlier, post-Bowie albums alot again...Soldier, Zombie BH, Party, New Values, and frankly they are just kicking my ass.
Tons of great stuff in those grooves. Even Party!
Let's face it, Iggy's an icon for a motherfucking reason. It's because--even today in my opinion--he is The Embodiment of rock and roll.

| couldnt agree with you more muddslide!! iggy's the fuckin man, amean every single album is entirely different in sound and style n all, and yet so similar cos of iggys lyrics and singing
he really is the embodiment of rock and roll
now that u mention it, i've given Blah Blah Blah, Instinct and Zombie Birdhouse a few more spins - in preparation for WTFS vol 2!! - and theyre great, like instinct and blah blah blahs great, really like fire girl as a ballady thing, and shades n all, great album, and ZBH is freaky but fuckin great too!

| If i\'m right Mc and Shakes their Iggy album list was not included yet. I would also add yours monchoconlaso but your list is a mix with stooges albums and this thread is only about iggy albums. if you post your top 5 iggy list than i could include it.. Number 2 is changed: The Idiot has 12 counts and New values has 14 counts. But the idiot is 6x voted as number 1 so that is why i put The Idiot and New Values both on nr 2. That makes Soldier is coming up into the total Iggy top 5 chart So here is the last updated chart counted together out of 21 posted lists: 1. Lust for Life ----------- 5x no.1 - 8x no.2 - 3x no.3 2. The Idiot -------------- 6x no.1 - 3x no.2 - 2x no.4 - 1x no.5+ New Values ------------ 3x no.1 - 7x no.3 - 2x no.4 - 2x no.53. Kill City ---------------- 3x no.1 - 4x no2 - 4x no.3 - 1x no.4 - 1x no.54. American Caesar ------ 3x no.2 - 5x no.4 - 2x no. 55. Soldier ----------------- 2x no.1 - 1x no.3 - 1x no.4 - 1x no.5Skull Ring -------------- 1x no.2 - 1x no.3 - 1x no.4 - 1x no.5Brick by Brick --------- 1x no.3 - 4x no.4 - 1x no.5Party ------------------- 1x no.3 - 1x no.4 - 1x no.5Zombie Birdhouse ----- 1x no.3 - 1x no.4 - 1x no.5
Avenue B -------------- 2x no.3 - 3x no.5
Naughty Little Doggie - 3x no.5 Beat em Up ------------ 1x no.1 - 1x no.2 - 1x no.4TV Eye live 77 --------- 1x no.2 - 1x no.4
Wild Animal------------- 1x no.1Blah Blah Blah --------- 1x no.5Instinct ----------------- 1x no.5 Hippodrome 77 -------- 1x no.5

| Thanks ZinZin! How can "New Values" (which I love) tie with "The Idiot" (which is a classic)?! You've not been on here in a while, we need you here or all our polls are pointless | |
