| It's nu-metal, There's no originality and it's pretty formulaic. I'd say "Instinct" and "Blah, Blah, Blah" were his worst albums and "Beat 'Em Up" is just OK. Nothing special. | |

so if i'm right the new posts almost didn't made a change for the total top 5 till now. Lust for Life still steady..although The Idiot is heading to nr. 1. New Values rock steady on 3.. and Kill City fighting with Brick by Brick for 4 and 5.. American Ceasar heading into the top 5.. interesting! You haven't heard it?... It's great I think... I think it's also Called "Sister Midnight"

| Till now 15 people posted their top 5 lists. Since the last totals there were 4 new posts with favourite IGGY lists. These posts influenced the totals; Kill City got up to nr 4...American Caesar got to nr 5 (Brick by Brick got down under Soldier) How to read the list...for example nr 1 Lust For Life; 4x means that 4 people chose Lust For Life as nr 1....5 people chose Lust for Life as nr 2 etc. etc. I also counted the amount of choices to decide which ones were more favourite....are you still with me? Here's the list with the totals: 1 Lust for Life ----------- 4x no.1 - 5x no.2 - 2x no.32 The Idiot --------------- 4x no.1 - 2x no.2 - 2x no.4 - 1x no.53 New Values ------------ 3x no.1 - 5x no.3 - 1x no.4 - 1x no.54 Kill City ---------------- 1x no.1 - 3x no2 - 3x no.3 - 1x no.4 - 1x no.55 American Caesar ------ 2x no.2 - 4x no.4 Soldier ----------------- 2x no.1 - 1x no.3 - 1x no.4
Brick by Brick --------- 1x no.3 - 4x no.4 - 1x no.5Avenue B -------------- 3x no.5
Naughty Little Doggie - 3x no.5 Beat em Up ------------ 1x no.1 - 1x no.2 Party ------------------- 1x no.3 - 1x no.4 - 1x no.5Skull Ring -------------- 1x no.3 - 1x no.4 - 1x no.5Zombie Birdhouse ----- 1x no.3 - 1x no.5Wild Animal------------- 1x no.1TV Eye live 77 --------- 1x no.2

I would, but I only have 3 so far. And one is a compilation. ZinZin will think I'm even worse - I haven't listened to ANY Iggy solo album! Individual songs, yes, but not a full album On a serious note, I would like to point out to ZinZin that I'm not wilfully ignoring Iggy's solo work. Just because I haven't listened to it like she has doesn't mean I don't - or can't - appreciate it. I daresay I'll listen to more as time goes on and meanwhile if I choose to concentrate more on what he's achieved with his original band The Stooges that's ENTIRELY up to me.

| Nadja..I don't think in terms that people on this forum should listen to Iggy stuff!!! strange ideas you got there... No need to be offensive..I'm only asking if people like to give their top 5 IF they like and listen to some albums...that's all.

| Where's the love? Ain't feelin' it.... It's all subjective. I wasn't keen on Iggy solo at first, then after a fashion I discovered a whole lot of songs I liked. So little by little I've gotten a few things. And will probably pick up more in the future. Still prefer the Stooges though. Iggy solo is great, but with the Stooges you get 4 amazing musicians, not just Iggy and a backup band. Some may disagree, but that's how I see it. No big deal though. | |

| i'd go chronologically, as in starting with kill city, to get where his mind was at the time, then idiot then lust for life, then maybe a couple live things from that era then move thru it like that, i like doin that, im doin that while reading a bio of dylan and listenin to his stuff, gives u a good prespective on it all | |

The Idiot New Values Zombie Birdhouse Party Why are everybody recomending 'The Idiot'? That album is not a good one to start with at all... I think that album is way overrated... Everyone should start with Lust For Life, then New Values... etc. (And if you like those you should go on to the "other stuff"...) I like 'The Idiot' don't get me wrong... But it's the second last of the "old" albums that I would recommend... after Zombie Birdhouse that is... which everyone on this board seems to like really much (Yes, I like that album, but not as much as you guys, hehe)! Nadja, Maybe you should pick up "Skull Ring", if you like the "The Weirdness" , then you'll get the Stooges songs and his solo stuff on one CD... and the songs Iggy does with the Trolls on that record is probably the best I've heard of his solo work in years... Nut that is just my personal opinion...

| Nadja definitely listen to 'The Idiot'.... it was the 1st thing he did after Kill City and an important stepping stone to his solo career. homesickjameswilliamson said it best, work your way through his work chronologically. There's some excellent tunes you just don't get to hear on most of the compilations. | |

Yeh!! Lucky you Nadja, i'd love to be able to 're-hear' - at least for the first time i mean, love listenin to it tho, its a great album, very atmospheric dont let us over sell it or anything Nadja, just approach it as if any album - open mind and all, and just see what you make of it get back to us with your verdict (after at least 8 listens tho!! never trust a preson who can judge an album after one or two listens - esp an iggy/stooges album! lol) HJW
