| The Idiot Lust For Life New Values Soldier TV Eye Live
If you grew up going to parties dancing to these records then American Caeser and Skull Ring for instance are verging on the embarassing. But i think its a generational thing, Iggy was always so smart and cool in 1980, I think its always hard for people from my generation to see him when he later was sucking up to the frat boy audience which he despised so much when he was younger, but iggy knows, ya gotta pay the bills!
"Iggy you got a biggie" LOL !!!

| Ok here I go... 1. Kill City(One of the most complete album ever made) 2. Lust for Life(Ditto) 3. The Idiot(Ditto) 4. Party(Most underrated solo-album ever. Yup, I know the album sounds like the commercial "I need money quick" type of album, but almost every song is catchy and make me in mood, "Rock'n roll party" especially.) 5. Brick by brick Nice to be here by the way! My first post here... Glad to see so many digital people with such a great taste Btw, almost nothing separates the top 3. | |

| Preliminaires is a great record, some of Iggy best songwriting in a long time. Makes me very positive for any writing with JW coming up, could be a great record results | |

| Agree. Iggy has a great voice, but it's rarely been visible on most albums. Preliminaries and Brick by Brick is are exceptions.. He sounds kind of like Leonard Cohen(or the other way around). | |

If "Kill City" is not considered a solo album, then bump everything up one and make Wild Animal #5.

| I'm currently listening to all Iggy's solo albums in order. I haven't listened to most of them in YEARS (since I went on an Iggy binge and grabbed them all up on vinyl). However, I've only done the first three so far. And I have never heard NAUGHTY LITTLE DOGGIE (just bought it used), BEAT 'EM UP, SKULL RING or PRELIMINAIRES. With that in mind, here's my Top 5 as I can recall them (in release order):
1. THE IDIOT 2. LUST FOR LIFE 3. KILL CITY 4. BRICK BY BRICK 5. AMERICAN CAESAR
Peace. | |

Dishonorable mention goes to: Party (exc. | 1. Brick By Brick 2. American Caesar 3. Blah Blah Blah 4. Instinct 5. The Idiot or maybe Naughty Little Doggie.
1986 - 1996 period was the best time from Iggy's solo career, in my opinion.
