| The book spans '68 to now, divided into chapters; first lp, Funhouse, Raw Power, Metallic KO, Funhouse box sessions and The Weirdness, with text regarding the recording of those records mixed with anecdotes and historical commentary.
The photos are killer. Some are pretty common, but there are loads that are just amazing - unseen photos from the Funhouse sessions, the Peter Hujar pix (different ones), a full page shot of Iggy covered in silver glitter, some great Danny Fields snaps including one of a very sheepish-looking Scott with Candy Darling(!). It's fabulous.
RUN, don't walk to the bookstore!

RUN, don't walk to the bookstore! I meant to say that that the person in the photo with Scott was Jackie Curtis, not Candy Darling.

| Wonder if there's any band photo in this book that tops your current avatar ElRoi! That's pretty much my favourite band shot up till now! | |

It think that actual photo is in color. I'm pretty sure I have seen it in color. But, yeah it's one of the top Stooges photos for sure.

| Re: Robert Matheu Book. I did notice one minor mistake. Iggy's blues drumming mentor was Sam Lay (of the Butterfield Blues Band and Howllin' Wolf Orchestra), not Sam Lee. I know it's a very minor error but his name has been mentioned in I Need More, Please Kill Me, Open Up and Bleed and various other sources, so any proof reader should have caught it. I guess I'm anal retentive that way. Some great photos that have never been out before. I thought I had the only copy of the Cheetam/Zettner line up posed shot (I do have an alternate that's never been out, I plan to put it on my blog one of these days). Anyway, it's a must have for any Stooges fan, very nice printing job. | |

| ElRoi,
Your avatar was an original color shot taken by Joel Brodsky in a photo session for the first LP. I believe that pose was used on the back cover of the LP. That photo along with a few head shots of the Ig were reprinted in monochrome in 8 by 10 glossies and were the original publicity photos used by Elektra in 1969.
I had about 25 of them autographed by the Stooges and I sent them out to the first people who joined the club.

| I got my copy today. Haven't had time to read any of the articles yet, but it's worth the price for the photo's alone. Nice job! | |

| My favorite picture is on page 36 where Iggy is about to crash land on top of the band. Scott's look is priceless!! | |

| Well, those are very nice kudos indeed. But in response to some possible errors, let us look at the title of the book.
Iggy may have sighted others as a drumming mentor in other books, but he decided to mention Sam Lee in this one!
Ask good ol' Strait James how accurate those other books are, by-standers and wanna-bees through out, hardly even also rans.

| BTW, there has never been a color photo of Igg covered in the spray paint and glitter before, you've only seen them in B&W, until now.
Also, I have the entire Hujar session, but choose not to use the photo that is posted on the someone's website. These are better choices and James asked not to see the photo of his leather jock in the book.
All Stooges took part in this book, starting with Ronnie. Long story for another time, Igg and I will be doing alot of promo for the book. NYC October 13th...

| Last word, I take issue calling some of the photos pretty common, we took great expense to get the best copies of those bitches that we could. Yeah, you might have seen that photo from CinnPop a 1000 times, but not like the one in the book! We went back to the all the photogs and went with 2009 technology.
Kinda like remastering Raw Power, if they ever got around to it...

Whoa, calm down there Robert. By "common" I meant seen before. No disrespect intended. The book is beautiful and you did a a great job on it.

Totally agree. I'm about half way through the read, it's got lots of new info and GREAT photo's. The mock grilling of Iggy on his Raw Power mix is great.
