The Stooges just fuckin ROCKED the hall of fame! Maybe the most badass performence ive ever see. Band was top notch and sounds great. my only complaint is that they had billy joe induct them...really? I was hopeing for maybe Bowie or someone but i think they could have settled with someone more appropriate. Other then that, LONG LIVE THE FUCKING STOOGES!

Never saw a better performance on that award show. Wasn't Iggy good? Looked SO fine. Thanked the fans. Choked up about the band in his speech. Gave a shout out for MC5. Flipped off the audience with both fingers soon as he got on stage. GREAT performance. James and Scott and Mike played so good too. Scott thanked Iggy and his gorgeous wife and daughter in the audience. Said his brother would have loved it. The film they showed on the Stooges thru the years was the best. The whole thing was real exciting. Iggy called on all the rich people to come up with him to sing and dance and they did! haha Everybody loved it.

excellent video package. excellent pick with billie joe armstrong (hey, it could of been worse!) a jaw dropping performance that will NOT be matched. pearl jam and the stooges on the same stage?! someone was definitely genius for giving mike mccready a guitar.
i am so happy to see them finally get what they deserved after all these years. i am sure dave, ron and the rest are all looking down from above with smiles.

At work at the moment so can't see any of the footage, but I'm looking forward to catching up when I get home. Sounds like Iggy, James and Scott made great speeches and that the band played a couple of killer tunes. Despite me secretly wishing for "You Don't Want My Name" it had to be "Search" and "Dog" didn't it? Loved the reports of the stage invasion by the 'rich people'. Well deserved induction, finally! Cheers, Richard

From the looks of the lead paragraph and photo, it is obvious everyone knows to whom the night belonged. And it wasn't the Hollies or Genesis or Abba or whoever else was being inducted.

Highlight of inductees. Stooges at the end of this clip
The small clip of search and destroy is sounding fantastic & Scott Thurston hitting the keys.
I hope this turns up in full later this evening.

I watched all 3 hours. I wouldn't miss it. It's the best award show on TV. The camera went to Iggy and Scott and James sitting at their tables thru the night. That video of the Stooges was spot on. Showed the interview where Ron said, the volume of the amps was the spirit of the music. Iggy talked over the video and said, "We were very bad boys" then it showed bloody Iggy and young James and Scott and Ron and all those great old still shots and live show clips. I thought Billy gave a spirited intro and at the end named about 50 punk bands that came after the Stooges and the crowd appreciated that. Iggy got bleeped about 9 times for the F-bomb. Iggy said "Ron was pissed off it didn't happen when he was alive." Then he said "This is a big industry and if it makes the right decisions it'll stay big." James reported the names in all the Stooge lineups. While James was making his speech Iggy was directly behind him and removed his tux jacket and unbuttoned his white shirt on stage and everybody yelled cause they knew what was about to happen. Scott said ALOT more than I ever heard from him. He said "he missed making music with his brother and will for the rest of his life." Then he said "Watt wasn't an original Stooge but he could have been." He also said Iggy brought our dreams to life." There were two great camera shots of James and Mike bent over playing Dog real fast and hard. I loved when that lady in the fur and gold lame' dress went on stage to dance! Iggy said, "Yeah baby" at her. Eric Burdon sang "We Gotta Get Outta This Place" with white hair and he did a great job. Carole King made a fabulous speech about the song writers who won for so many neat old songs. Steven Van Zant said Iggy is cool. The big dissappointment was two ABBA members were no shows. It was definitely the STOOGES night.

Well, I got home from work all ready to sit down and watch only to find out that it was tape delayed to 8:30 West Coast time. The channel guide said it would be live at 5:30.
No big thing, right? It gave me time to get recording gear in place - audio and DVD - and relax for a bit. So, it comes on and everything is great except that it had been censored. It's not terrible but since Iggy tends to swear a bit there are spots where the sound just goes away.
Now, with the griping aside, on to the show. The induction speech was alright. I don't know who decides who inducts who but the Green Day guy was fine. Someone like Wayne Kramer, Thurston Moore, Mick Jones, David Bowie or a handful of others might have been better but it's not that important. I thought someone older might have made more sense.
It was nice to hear all three speeches - Iggy getting choked up at the end of his speech, James thanking all former Stooges, Scott giving props to Ron - all very touching.
The live show was pretty fucking cool. Scott Thurston sitting in was a nice touch - can he please join the touring band on piano and second guitar???? - and the versions of S&D and Dog were pretty great. Probably the best part was Iggy inviting all the rich types up on stage. "...can we get some jewelry up here?...can we get some rich men up here?..." I can't remember what all he said and will have to go back and relisten but it was great fun.
Also had to love the Hollies induction. They were one of the great 60's pop bands and it sure sounded great to hear those songs. Jimmy Cliff was terrific and had the best voice of any of the old guys up on that stage. Abba were alright - Waterloo is a great pop record and I don't care at all about Genesis.
Overall a great show and The Stooges really rocked the joint.
Now, one last time - Fuck the R&R HOF for not doing this while Ron was alive.

If it doesn't show up sooner, I should get the Stooges portion up somewhere by this evening (hopefully no tech issues)
