| Larry,
I could not agree with you more.
It's a disgrace that it took this long for the Stooges to be inducted. I hope Iggy was right last night when he said Ron is up there having a martini. I can only pray that he somehow knows.
Too late, but at least it happened! A bittersweet moment, for sure.

| Fuse is replaying the whole 3 hour ceremony this Sunday. I think. AP reported "Iggy Pop Inducted into Rock Hall of Fame." Think there was one sentence about James and Scott. Can they STILL be that clueless. I imagine everyone will lobby to induct Iggy on his solo career now. "For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die." -- Ted Kennedy | |

| Thanks for the review Rodehard, sounds great
does anyone know if they'll show it in the UK?
it was indeed a bittersweet night Natalie, and it was hard to read about Scott missing playing music with his brother
RORHOF really should have inducted them when they were all still here - and even before that, i still maintain the music people have been listening to for the past 30+ years including contemporary bands, would not have been the same without stooges, Danny Fields was right (in that BBC Motown documentary) the major influence isnt dylan / beatles et al anymore but stooges (he also mentioned Ramones)
great night, they deserve to be inducted at least another 1000 times
hope they enjoyed it

| sorry to thread piss but am I the only fan to have watched the youtube material and got no enjoyment out of this? Come on Armstrong from Green Day reading alpabetical list of all the bands that might have taken their cue from The Stooges - I mean - apropos of fuckin nothing. Listen I am not some up my own arse purist, and I take the point that a new generation of kids might just get some inspiration, but leave the Hall of Fame to Red Hot Chilli Peppers or somesuch drivel. Furthermore I got no problem with Stooge re-union mark 1 or 2 or Iggy showing up doing some insurance ad to prop up the pension. John Lydon has pulled pretty much the same moves in recent years yet saw the Hall of Fame for what is was worth:-
Next to the SEX PISTOLS rock and roll and that hall of fame is a piss stain. Your museum. Urine in wine.
And thats just it what is The Stooges doing in a fucking museum?
Edit:- Sorry rant over. I just had to get that off my chest

| Addressing rant: I thought that given the artifice of the entire situation, the Stooges came off as very, very honest in their music, their attitude and their recognition of such a hard-won, lifetime triumph. | |

| just watched it, thank you very much StudioGuy
it was great to see, they looked like they had a great time, and a deserved time
dog was brilliant, everyone was on form, the band sounds great now - and iggy looks really well
the speeches were great too, it must be very satisfying for them
you couldnt write the stooges story, its too bizarre, who would have thought that the same band that started with a bass, a barrel and a ukelele (is that correct - im thinking of the 'avant garde' first gig halloween night 67) or through 68/69/70 to 74 and ending in the chaos caught on metallic ko, that they would have just been inducted alongside their heroes like beatles, dylan, doors or stones
cant wait to see them in May
thanks again Studio Guy

Also, during the first song, scott's main cymbal casme loose and un-tilted... that must have been nerve racking

Also, during the first song, scott's main cymbal casme loose and un-tilted... that must have been nerve racking Scott's speech was my favorite part other than the music as I've never heard him talk before. The "God loves the Stooges, peace" line was perfect. He handled the loose cymbal stand like the 45 year drum veteran that he is, and just hit it from the side. James and Iggy's speeches were great also and James played just great and seemed much more comfortable than the Brazil show. I my opinion it was an absolutely perfect induction and performance.

| Thanks Studioguy for uploading that entire clip. My rant yesterday was based on my loathing for HOF and those industry sycophants in general as I had only seen Amrstrong's induction speech and the final 'stage invasion'. Having watched the speech by Iggy, James and Scotty I can see that they were also quite touching and heartfelt moments too.

yes, it is kind of a strange tale..makes you wonder if there are any more twists still to come.. I've always had ambivalent feelings about the HOF but of course if the band are happy that's great thanks studioguy.

| Hey - big thank you, Studioguy. I made two mp3s from the soundtrack of that mpg file. Tried to edit out the "censor" silence a bit. Here we go SearchDog S&D was soooo much better than Sao Paulo. Anticipation for Hamersmith shows is multiplied. |
