When Madonna finished her LONG speech she said, here's Iggy. He came running out and yelled STOOGES! haha She should have said Iggy and the Stooges. Anyway, he sang my favorite Madonna song Burning Up, jumped off the stage and Madonna was sitting in the front row so he yelled (sang) in her face. She had a big ol' smile the whole time. She really likes him. The stage was full of spot lights around the edge and high up. Iggy had to lay down on it and stand up (oh that bad hip). They showed good camera shots of Ron and Scott. When it was over Iggy said to Madonna "Like a virgin touched for the very first time." Then he dropped the mic on the stage and walked off. It was VERY good. THEN the camera followed him ALL the way backstage and Madonna was there to greet him and kissed him and posed for pix and she shook hands with the Ashtons.

Lou Reed hasn't changed at all.

I saw the whole thing full screen off my computer monitor in high definition. THANKS Cathy for helping me. I don't know why you all didn't watch the simulcast. Too bad, you MISSED it.

They did good. You couldn't even tell they were Madonna songs, which in itself is a good thing.

I sure wish she'd have shut the fuck up a lot sooner though. What a long winded bag.

The first links song I thougth that Iggys voice sounded like shit to be true...

Burning up, or what the name was, was a truly great song!

Just saw the two songs played and it was good, i was really nervous because its puttin the stooges in front of a crowd that will hate them anyway u'no, its like hoping the rest of the children wil accept your child, lol, but it was really good, ray of light was ok, but that "burnin up" song was fuckin brilliant, steve was on top especially! brilliant track/version

anyway, yeh on the backstage stuff i never realised iggys limp was so pronounced, his shorter leg must be a good couple inches shorter

but that irrelevant, yeh they were great - as usual! anyway does anyone know of any recordings of it, mp3 audio i mean, like soundboard or watever they call them recordings? i'd love to hear that burnin up song like that, the video on youtube of it was awful audio quality

Madonna songs aside, I thought they did a good job.
Sax sounded real good on Burnin Up.

Anyone thought the backstage stuff was a bit weird...Iggy sounded as if he was being a bit sarcastic how he said "we had a lot of fun working on(the songs)"...dunno. I might be wrong.
It seemed all a bit false backstage...

Stooges did good though.

it'd be cool, if such a stir was caused by their version of "Burnin' up", (exposure to new audience, etc...), that they actually added it to their 2008 shows.

You could be forgiven for thinking Madonna and Justin Timberlake were both inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame yesterday in the States. All the coverage of the event centred on JT telling everyone that he recently dropped his daks at Madonna's request while he introduced her induction.

But Madonna was not the only one formally anointed as a dead-set musical legend. Check out the 'other guy' looking bored in the photo with Madge and JT. Yes, eccentric muscle-clad punk rock pioneer Iggy Pop was also given the honour and even decided to pay his own tribute to his fellow inductee.

As you can see below, Iggy belted out a cover of Madge's classic "Ray of Light" for the slightly stunned audience. Seemingly no one was more stunned than Madonna herself. Check it out as the camera pans to her - she can't decide if she should laugh or be respectfully thankful.

Also watch right to the end of the clip to see the two inductees awkwardly chewing the fat after the 'unique' performance. Even Madonna has awkward moments!

Iggy wasn't inducted was he? And Madge asked for the Stooges to play her songs didn't she? So why should she be stunned?
