| Actually, ron's playing seemed to be the same as back in the day, but I know what you mean.
Somewhere I read an article about how ronnie never wanted to practice, just do concerts....

| there's NO WAY that Iggy will want to nor be able to relate to Williamson .....Iggy and Ron have lived as free spirits for a very long, long time.....and Williamson....well..... | |

| I've traded some e-mails with Williamson last week, I've also read his recent newspapaer interview. He never ever said that he would NOT play with Iggy anymore. He never said either that he does not play guitar anymore. The only FACT he mentions is that he WOULD HAVE play the Rock Hall of Fame gig for Ron if Iggy would have asked him...
In the meantime Steve Jones seems interested to join the band...
Who knows what's gonna happen. Ron always said that when you're a musician you must never stop rock'n'roll. That's what Iggy should do. Keep on rocking. Don't hate hime is he ever "replace" Ron or makes up another band.
Peace. Gui | |

Iggy's solo tracks, but not so much on the stooges tracks, but when Iggy found Whitey, all Whitey played was Metal, and stuff like the scorpions. So, that may have had something to do with it, since Whitey didn't know any Iggy songs.Cheers ! Iggy songs sounded too metallic under Whitey to my opinion. not a fan at all of metal guitar playing although sometimes it gave a good edge to a few songs. I like the Rob Duprey + Carlos Alomar + Gary Valentine guitars violence combination. - world's forgotten boy wrote:

here another 'Raw Power' Iggy mix fan!! maybe to get convinced WFB check out yourself the thread; 'stooges albums top 5' of the real Stooges fans.. on this forum - webmaster@iggy-pop.com wrote:

important line to consider at the moment.

'O Solo Mio' is hands-down the best song by the reformed Stooges and a perfect capstone to the legacy. Lyrically it has become really resonant over the last few weeks and is a great example of the finely-woven (yet brutal) mondo-distorto godhead that I've come to associate with Mr. Asheton. Release it as a tribute single to Ron and let the greatest rock n' roll band of all time rest in peace. well said - JESUS_LOVES_THE_STOOGES wrote:

- Yeah, it's still not a Stooges show, when there's no Iggy. So I don't know what you're trying to tell me here. And what about the shows Ron, Scott and Watt did before the reunion, are those Stooges shows also then?
No but The Stooges are still together at the moment and at that time in 1971 The Stooges were still together. Just like you can't have The Stooges with no Iggy you can't have them without Ron. - world's forgotten boy wrote:
- And in America and Britain I think ‘Funhouse’ is more popular.
I'd disagree completly. Due to The Stooges influence on the UK punk scene and in particular "Raw Power", "Raw Power" is a FAR more popular album. Can't say what its like in America though. Look at the favourite Stooges album thread, "Raw Power" was number one last time I looked. Though theres not much between it and "Fun House". - trailerborn wrote:

Couldn't agree more, I LOVE "O Solo Mio". - webmaster@iggy-pop.com wrote:

| Someone rightly pointed out on this forum quite recently that Steve Jones is VERY far from being one of the worst guitarists there's ever been. But to suggest such a thing usually leads to a full-blown Pistols' controversy like he'd ever join Iggy and Co. anyway!!!!!!! can't believe anyone'd take that seriously | |

| I can see Williams joining for maybe ONE Ron tribute.....
I truly feel Iggy will continue rocking to his own tune, just as he did with his solo projects........do a few gigs here and there.....with other musicians.....maybe do more stuff like Ave B.....but I don't see Iggy asking Williamson to join as one of the stooges......
Also, Iggy never ever considered Watt, a Stooge.....when you look at new Stooge "press" or "press photos"....they never include Watt.........Watt doesn't even consider himself a Stooge.....just a hired gun......
Plus, Iggy doesn't want to tour much anymore..he's pretty much laying ground for "semi" retirement....
I think the Stooges are pretty much done....it ended with Ronnie's death......maybe Iggy will work with Scottie from time to time..........or put another type band together.......as with the trolls......which in my opinion .........The Trolls kicked ass live...........l they were a power house in their own rite...........
Will be interesting to see what Iggy does.....indeed....

| When I saw the Stooges here in Rotterdam and they played I Got A Right...I had a dream. A gig with Iggy,Ron,Scott,Watt,Steven and Willamson. And maybe Scott Thurston. That rhythm secion with 2 guitars.sax ,elec. piano & Iggy. Playing all that Raw Power,Mettalic KO,boothleg stuff and some Stooges clasics. Sounds great to me.
By the way...Love all Stooges/Iggy & Stooges stuff. Only problem is can James still play those songs?

I predict Iggy will go back to his solo career.

| Face it. If Iggy and Scott want to call a band the stooges, they can. Iggy said they got triple the money at euro festivals when the used stooges. We might not like it but to most people Iggy IS the stooges. I doubt that one of a hundred people at a big out door festival would even notice Rons absence. NY Dolls , Mc5, the Who the Stones all tour with just a few original members. Good as the originals, no, but it allows them to tour and draw crowds. | |
